Welcome to Our F.A.M.I.L.Y. (Fathers and Mothers Involved in Local Youth)

About Us

Our F.A.M.I.L.Y. (Fathers And Mothers Involved in Local Youth) is a 501(C)(3) corporation recognized as a public charity that enhances the lives of local youth by providing them with experiences that are educationally and spiritually enriching, while offering them a respite from the difficulties of their daily lives.

Since 1996, Our F.A.M.I.L.Y. has provided specialized programs and all-expenses paid field trips to children who are economically disadvantaged, who come from troubled home or family situations, or who
have suffered abuse.

Our F.A.M.I.L.Y. was formed as an Ohio Non-profit Corporation on July 21, 2006 by Emma Jean and Bobby Ray Taylor Sr.

Our F.A.M.I.L.Y. programs provide a creative and safe environment for children and mentors to meet and establish an ongoing relationship. The program was designed to engage participants in meaningful recreational, cultural, spiritual and educational pursuits.

Adventure Seekers

The Adventure Seekers program utilizes the ever-growing in popularity activity of “geocaching” to expose the children to the wonders of Lorain County parks, trails, and historical landmarks in a fun and exciting way. The program is a great, low impact
way of increasing fitness by providing a reason to get out in the fresh air to do some walking and hiking.

Atlanta - Orlando Trip

The Atlanta – Orlando field trip is the ultimate reward for year-long participation in the Our F.A.M.I.L.Y. PROGRAM. The week-long field trip involves groups of 10-12 children traveling under the supervision of adult volunteers from the organization.  In selecting these destinations the organization places an emphasis on visiting sites of national and historical significance to promote an educational purpose for the trip.

Breakfast Buddies

“Breakfast Buddies” Homework Club is an opportunity for students to enjoy their morning breakfast and receive academic support.
Open to all 5th grade students the Breakfast Buddies meet weekly and encourages peer-to-peer assistance along with informal tutoring as needed.

Internet Safety

Our F.A.M.I.L.Y. has an i-SAFE Certified Trainer on staff to conduct the three-week internet safety training sessions. i-SAFE's education component provides students with dynamic, interactive, up-to-date e-Safety curriculum.
